Membership is drawn from the most advanced performers in the band program. Students are selected through auditions held in the spring by the Director of Bands or his designee(s).
The repertoire and performance of the Wind Ensemble is of the highest level and quality attainable by the ensemble.
The Wind Ensemble will present fall, winter, and spring concerts and participate in Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) / Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA) assessment, events, and festivals.
Membership in this ensemble requires practice, rehearsals, and performances outside of the school day as an extension of the classroom activity.
Per Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) policy, members of the Wind Ensemble are required to be members of the Marching Atoms.
