Congratulations to Patricia Brown and Jane Scharankov on being recognized as the November 2019 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 2 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Brown and Ms. Scharankov!

Below is the write up submitted by Ms. Monica Bentley, assistant principal of Annandale HS. 

Thank you, Pat and Jane, for going above and beyond for our students!  On top of having all new library systems and rearranging the entire library, they have seen 90 classes in September and October, to include all 9th and 11th grade English students, CAT B English, 8 ESOL Strategies for Success classes, all 3 Theory of Knowledge classes (after school class included), as well as other miscellaneous CAT B classes. In addition, Pat and Jane coordinated with the public library to bring 600 library cards to our Annandale students. They made our CAT B students library cards to practice in our school library for when they use their real one at the public library. Jane and Pat have also collaborated with our SBTS and TSSpec to have the Libby public library app pushed out to all AHS student computers so our students can use online resources that we do not have at Annandale High School.  Now all students have access to licensing practice tests such as Physician’s Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Culinary, and Auto Tech.
